Even if done twice or thrice a year during the tenancy agreement period, it should be enough. Care should be taken to ensure that the carpet is free from stains, spots and other such things.

It’s not a bad idea for tenant to clean carpet of the home out of moral and ethical commitment. However, if the issues related to carpet cleaning are clearly mentioned in the agreement, then things become that much clearer and simpler for both the parties.
